Louisiana 14 & Under State Championship

Team Attire:
-Shirt Colors: Thursday: choice, Friday: White or Gray, Saturday: Red, Sunday: Black
-Swim Cap: Black CA swim cap (there will be extras for sale as needed)
Athlete/Coach/Officials Entry: enter through the main lobby doors (the doors that face Nicholson).
Parents/Spectators: will enter/exit through the doors by the tennis courts for viewing (see updated Parent Info below).
Crawfish Team Seating (athletes only) assignment: UPDATED POOL MAP
Crawfish athletes are assigned to the Bleachers by Diving Well (see map for full layout of team/athlete seating assignments and parent areas. There are no parents permitted in any of the "team/athlete designated areas; these areas will be blocked off during the meet). We are alloted a "parent helper" for our team area- Emily Mayo will do this for all sessions of the meet and will have the team caps for anyone needing this or additional help. We also have 11 coaches that will be on deck with the athletes during the meet!

- Thursday: 4:00pm warm up, 5:00pm start. (all other state swimmers not competing on Friday will have Thurs practice).
- Prelims, Fri/Sat/Sun: Arrive by 7:50am. Warm up (2nd warm up)- 8:10-8:40am. Meet begins 9:00am. Senior groups will warm up in the Main Pool and Junior/Age Groups will warm up in the diving well pool each morning.
- Finals, Fri & Sat: Warm up (2nd warm up)- 4:10pm. Arrive by 4:00pm. Meet begins: 5:00pm
- Finals, Sun: Warm up (2nd warm up)- 3:20pm. Arrive at 3:00pm. Meet begins: Start 4:00pm
- Sunday 1000 Warm-ups: 1:30-2:00/ Meet Starts 2:10pm
- Sign in events: 10 & U 200 Free & 200 IM, the 1650 Free, 500 Free, 400 IM are sign in events at warm ups the day of the event. The 1000 Free sign in closes Sat PM by end of Finals. Coaches will confirm & handle athlete sign ins.
- Breaks during prelims: On Saturday there is a 10 minute break after the Relays before the 500 Free
- Breaks during finals: 10 minute break for Awards (top 3) at the halfway mark on Fri, Sat, Sun. Also on Friday/Saturday there is a 10 minute break prior to the relays.
UPDATED Information for Parents from Louisiana Swimming:
- POOL MAP LAYOUT (parent, swimmer/team assignments)
- Heat Sheets will be sold from the Main Lobby (enter through the doors facing Nicholson). They will no longer be on Meet Mobile app.
- Each Team has an assigned Team Area at the meet. These areas are for SWIMMERS and coaches only.
- Update-Spectator Entry: Spectators will enter and exit the building through the side doors nearest the tennis courts. Spectators will be seated in the raised bleachers. This is not a permanent seating area for spectators. Spectators will be asked to come and go as they can to open up space for other spectators to view the races. These bleachers are not large enough to accommodate all spectators at one time. Outside Chairs are not allowed on the pool deck for parents anywhere.
- Locker Rooms are for SWIMMERS ONLY.
- Parents can bring tents to set up the field in front of the pool.
- Parking: There is a large LSU Track Meet on Saturday so parking may be limited in the morning.
- Concessions, D&J Sports, Spectator Restrooms:
Spectators will enter through the main entrance facing Nicholson to go to concessions, D&J Sports or the indoor spectator bathrooms. The remainder of the deck will be reserved for team seating and closed to spectators. - Awards (Top 3) at Finals: The awards have been moved closer to the spectator seating (see map) and this will happen mid-way through Finals each night (events that happen after the mid-session awards presentation will be distributed the following night or on Sunday, at the end of that session.
Schedule and Meet Format Notes
- "Timed Finals" events are events that are swum once (these events are notated with "T/F" on the Event Order document).
Individual events that are TF format will have the top 8 swimmers competing at night with all other swimmers in the event swimming in the morning, but the results from both sessions are combined for the final ranking of the event. *Note- for the 10 & U 200 IM & 200 Free, the Top 16 will swim at night as a timed finals event. All events 400yds + will be Top 8 at finals. - Prelim/Final Format events are swum at the morning prelim session, with the Top 16 finishers returning in the afternoon to compete again. The event is ranked and scored based on the Finals swims.
- Thursday Night: 1650 free (timed finals)
- Friday:
-Prelims: All events are "Prelims/Finals format" with the exception of the 10 & Under 200 Free and 14 & U 400 IM and relays which are "Timed Finals". Top 16 for the 10 & U 200 free and Top 8 for the 400 IM will at swim at night in Finals with all other entries in the morning.
-Finals session: All swimmers finishing in the Top 16 will return to compete at Finals (see notes above about TF events). - Saturday:
-Prelims: All events are "Prelims/Finals format" with the exception of the 500 Free and relays which are "Timed Finals".
Top 8 in the 500 Free will at swim at night in Finals with all other entries in the morning.
-Finals session: All swimmers finishing in the Top 16 will return to compete at Finals (see notes above about TF events). - Sunday AM:
-Prelims: All events are "Prelims/Finals format" with the exception of the 10 & Under 200 IM and the the 14 & U 1000 Free which is "Timed Finals". Top 16 for the 10 & U 200 IM will at swim at night in Finals. The top 4 female and male participants in the 1000Y Free will compete together in a single heat to be contested at the beginning of Sunday Finals.
-Finals session: All swimmers finishing in the Top 16 will return to compete at Finals (see notes above about TF events) - Relays: Relays are Timed Finals events (swim once). Coaches will announce tentative relays ahead of the meet but they will be confirmed at the meet. Check in with coaches daily about relays before leaving the meet (just because you weren't initially on one or not on a relay Saturday, you could be added later, etc.).
-200 Free and 200 Medley relays will be swum at the end of Prelims on Saturday and Sunday.
-400 Free and 400 Medley relays will be swum at Finals on Friday and Saturday.
